The USDA Eating Model reflects the interests of the industrial food machine, a food production system that hurts the health of people, plants, animals, and ecosystems. Adding sustainable dietary guidelines to the USDA eating model isn’t a new idea, but Big Ag doesn’t want them included, because it would cause consumers to question the status quo and cut into their profits. Meat and food industry lobbyists have been doing their best for a long time, to bring lawmakers over to their side and exclude an environmental agenda and/or sustainability agenda. THE TIME HAS COME!
