Explore both spirituality and religious beliefs that shape your experience of life in this activity. Consider how your relationship with God, nature, and Earth serves to make your human existence more meaningful while nourishing the spiritual hunger of your heart.

    Experiencing a Sacred Partnership with the Earth – Recover your spiritual connection by going into nature as Indigenous peoples do and observing the aliveness (the spirit/life force) of every living thing. As you observe this aliveness, you will notice how the Earth’s energy supports your own liveliness.

    Do You Organize Your Faith around a Spirit Within? – Discern the difference between “organized religion” and “organized faith.” Explore a fast-growing group called the “nones,” a group that claims a sincere belief in God but does not adhere to a specific religious orientation. Find out if you, or someone else that you know, might be a “none” and consider how tolerance for one another’s religious differences and choices is necessary to heal the world.

In this activity, you also gain access to several interdenominational organizations that educate on the connection between religion and the environment

Imagine the “creative spiritual consciousness” at the core of all matter and the personal and planetary healing that might take place on a molecular and cellular level when we align our thoughts with that core consciousness.

How does knowing God in your heart differ from “knowing about” God from a book or other external reference?

    What Is Your True Nature? –Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you risk your own safety and comfort to help another animal or person? In this activity, you are invited to read a very short story about a woman who risked her safety to free a living creature. You’ll consider what helping another sentient being means about your true nature.

    Do You Believe in Creationism, Intelligent Design, and/or Evolution? –Do you believe that the question of life’s origins can be answered by Creationism, which is the religious belief that nature, and aspects such as the universe, Earth, life, and humans, originated with supernatural acts of the divine? Or do you believe that the question of life’s origins can be answered by the scientifically based theory of evolution? Is it possible that you can believe in both at the same time? This activity shares perspectives from faith leaders.

    Porchfests are music events where various neighborhoods set up porches and bands for afternoons of music! Typically, local musicians take turns playing for specific amounts of time. In this activity, you will get ideas for how to create a fun and memorable event that all ages can appreciate.

    6X_01: Using Breathwork to Heal the 8 Biggies of Human Trauma

    Using Breathwork to Heal the Eight Biggies of Human Trauma – Breathwork got its start during the consciousness-raising era of the 1960s and 1970s. In this activity, you will explore a few different types of breathwork that are used by trained Breathwork practitioners to help people heal memories related to birth trauma, as well as other life issues that hold them back. You’ll have the chance to think about how you breathe, what the goal of breathwork is, and how you can benefit from it, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

    Where Do You Look, To See the Face of God? – In this activity, you are asked thesequestions:If you were conscious of God’s presence, how would God show its face to you? Do you believe in your heart that God’s face is expressed in all living things, from people to the cosmos? This activity invites you to imagine the kinds of stories you would cover in the news if you were a journalist, whether through webzine, radio, or TV. Reflect on the impact of positive news versus the barrage of negative news we are currently exposed to, which is more problem-oriented than solution-oriented.

In this activity, you will be introduced to a handful of podcasts that invite you to gain different spiritual perspectives. You have the chance to see which one you resonate with most and share your thoughts about them.

    What Will Your Legacy Be? – Leaving a legacy is important for many different reasons. It can serve as an example for current and future generations. It can also preserve memories and valuable life lessons for our families and friends. This activity invites you to share what you want your legacy to be and encourages you to know that your Eco-Mentoring Learning journey has been preparing you to leave a legacy that will be remembered and cherished because of your commitment to eco-intelligent living, learning, and healing.

    Making Each Day a Holy Day by Walking in Beauty – The role of beauty is important in healing your relationship with life, the Earth, and all living things. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the wisdom of Native American tribes, who teach their children at a very young age how to make each day holy by walking a path of beauty in their lives. As you consider all the ways that beauty adds to the meaning of your life on Earth, explore when and how beauty reveals itself to you in each moment.


    6X_11: The World Isn’t Perfect, Or Is It?

    The World Isn’t Perfect, Or Is It?– Redefine what perfection means in this activity. Recognize that there is perfection in imperfection. You are asked to identify which of the six eco-principles need to be practiced to create positive change for a list of so-called imperfect conditions that exist in our world. Your answers define how all the principles work together perfectly to address the most difficult problems we face.

    Seeing Your Beauty, Perfection, and Wholeness in the Mirror of Life – As you see your own beauty, perfection, and wholeness, you’ll step away from the mirror that hangs on your bedroom wall and stop perceiving the flaws and imperfections that give voice to your judgmental, critical self. In the “mirror of life,” you’ll learn to perceive your beauty, perfection, and wholeness through all things in nature that inspire you. To appreciate and identify the beauty in something, whether it is a plant, animal, or ecosystem, the spirit or essence of it must already live inside of you.
