Learning Objectives
  • Get clear about how artificial sweeteners are made, and how they can rob your health blind, creating numerous unwanted health issues, ranging from headaches, nausea, and skin issues, to IBS, weight gain, and cancer.
  • Learn how corn syrup is made, what processed foods contain it, and the four major health problems it has been linked with.
  • Learn about several serious health conditions that sugar is responsible for causing (such as Candida, obesity, high blood pressure, and mood issues, as well as depressed immunity) and why you should cut it out of your diet or, at a minimum, restrict your consumption of it.
  • Get familiar with all of Mother Nature's liquid sweeteners, including honey, rice syrup, barley malt syrup, maple syrup, coconut syrup, and brown rice syrup. Explore the geographical places they originate from, their values to earth's ecology, and their uses in healthful recipes. Includes measurements for using in place of sugar.
  • Make an acquaintance with Mother Nature's dry, granulated, and powdered sugars, including coconut palm sugar, organic cane sugar, and date sugar, as well as stevia, birch tree sugar, and monk fruit powder. Course Description

The options are endless, from honey and molasses to palm sugar, stevia, good ol' granulated white sugar, and high fructose corn syrup! Not all sweeteners are created equal, though! Do you know which sweeteners are safe, sustainable, and healthy, and which sweeteners damage your body and the planet? In this course, you will learn about the health risks that have been linked with consuming artificial sweeteners, as well as processed forms of sugar. You will also learn about wholesome, organically raised sweeteners (derived from plants) which, when eaten in moderation, add delicious food values and flavors to your diet.
